TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, or GIIAS Exhibition in Bandung was held for the first time on Nov. 22 to 26, 2023, at Sudirman Grand Ballroom.
GIIAS Bandung 2023 recorded around 30,438 visitors in its five days of showcase, a significantly high number considering it was the first time this exhibition was held in this city.
"The high number of visitors proves that the automobile industry's potential in West Java is huge and the presence of GIIAS Bandung is a push in the right direction to maximize it," said the head of Gaikindo Exhibition organizer Rizwan Alamsjah in a press release received by Tempo.
The head of Gaikindo Yohannes Nangoi stated that GIIAS Bandung is a platform to expand public information concerning the development of the automobile industry in Indonesia, including educating the masses and pushing for the national growth of the automobile industry.
"The success of GIIAS Bandung not only will become an achievement for the automobile industry in this region but also a great push nationwide," Nangoi said.
The exhibition this year was participated by 18 automobiles, 15 of which were passenger-based such as Chery, Audi, Honda, DFSK, Lexus, Mazda, Kia, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Toyota, Seres, Wuling, and Volkswagen. There were also three motorcycle brands such as Benelli, Keeway, and Royal Enfield.
