TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mass Rapid Transit, or MRT Jakarta experienced a technical disruption in its operating system this morning, Thursday, Nov. 23, delaying several trips.
The Head of Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta Ahmad Pratomo stated that the disruption occurred at around 09:30 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time). "[We] detected a disruption in the system and the team inspected that it would affect the train's punctuality," Ahmad told Tempo.
Specifically, he conveyed that the disruption happened to the communication system. "For example, where the [train] should have stopped for 30 seconds at the platform, it instead stopped for a minute or so, meaning, there were at least two minutes delay if occurred in two different stations," he explained.
According to Ahmad, several MRT stations experienced this disruption, causing a four to ten-minute delay to the schedule.
He could not inform the exact stations experiencing the technical disruption, since MRT Jakarta trainsets were constantly mobile. "[It's] not a matter of which stations, but which train number that experienced the delay," he said.
However, Ahmad also added that MRT Jakarta immediately normalized the schedule upon finding the error. "[The schedule] has been recovered since 10:43 a.m. WIB," he concluded.
