TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pelita Air welcomed the arrival of an  Airbus A320 aircraft, the 10th plane to join its fleet. The airline was also set to receive its 11th aircraft in the second week of December.

"This aircraft will soon be integrated into [Pelita Air] aviation network to help support Pelita Air's service improvement for the people during the Christmas and New Year Holidays," said the President Director of Pelita Air Dendy Kurniawan in his statement on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

With the arrival of these two aircraft, Dendy said, Pelita Air will open brand new routes and increase the aviation frequency for existing flight routes. Thus, the capacity of Pelita Air's aviation service would increase by 20 percent.

According to Dendy, the arrival of these new aircraft also marked a historic milestone for Pelita Air. Dendy remarked that this measure reflected the airline's commitment to improve its services and aviation experience for its passengers. It also showcased the trust that aircraft manufacturers and lessors had for the airline's business growth.

The general public enthusiasm was also reflected in the seat load factor of Pelita Air's flights. Dendy recorded that in the third quarter of 2023, the seat load factor reached 83.2 percent, and 87.1 percent in October 2023 alone. Meanwhile, the month-to-date seat load factor for November has reached 88.7 percent.

Dendy emphasized that the arrival of new fleets and the growth throughout 2023 proved that Pelita Air continues to be committed to providing the best possible and innovative services for its customers. Pelita Air, Dendy said, is optimistic to continue its role as one of Indonesia's aviation industry catalysts.
