Jokowi Scheduled to Attend Golkar's 59th Anniversary Celebration

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Golkar Party will celebrate its 59th anniversary at the Golkar DPP office in Slipi West Jakarta this afternoon, November 6, 2023. President Joko Widodo or Jokowi is expected to attend.

In addition to Jokowi, the general chairman of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) political party will also attend the event.

Nurul Arifin, deputy chair of the 59th Golkar Party Anniversary Organizers, said in a written statement on Monday, November 6 that the event will be a celebration of the party's journey in the Indonesian political constellation.

According to Nurul, this celebration will be attended by regional administrators, the Hasta Karya mass organization and the Golkar Party wings. However, she said that the event will not be filled with other agendas, and it will focus only on celebrating the party's journey. "There is no other political agenda as previously reported," he said.

There were rumors that the anniversary celebration would be a momentum to "inaugurate" Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a Golkar cadre. This is in line with Gibran's current status—no longer a PDIP cadre after he returned his Membership Identification Card (KTA) to the PDIP Surakarta Branch Leadership Council (DPC).
