1. Whoosh High-speed Train to Make 28 Trips a Day Starting November: KCIC
PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) will increase the number of daily trips run by the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Train, called Whoosh, from 14 in October 2023 to 28 in November 2023.
"We are increasing the number of daily trips to 28 because of more demand," KCIC president director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi said in a statement released on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
According to him, the high demand for Whoosh High-speed Train can be seen from the high number of ticket sales.
2. Batik Air Offers Non-Stop Flights from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur, Penang
The member of Lion Group, Batik Air, is offering non-stop flights that connect Indonesia through the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport to Kuala Lumpur and Penang.
"The existing operations, namely Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur, offer 6 flights a day and Jakarta-Penang is offering 2 flights a day," said Corporate Communications Strategic of Batik Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro in a written statement on Thursday, November 2.
Batik Air operates the routes on Boeing 737-800NG, with 12 business class seat-capacity and 150 economy class seat-capacity.
3. KPU to Host Five Presidential Debates Ahead of 2024 Poll
The General Election Commission (KPU) member, Mochammad Afifuddin, said the agency decided to hold a total of five debates for the 2024 Presidential Election, with three debates for the presidential candidates and two debates for the vice presidential candidates. He stressed that the agency’s decision is non-negotiable.
“So, it will be five debates in total, exactly the same as in the 2019 (Presidential Election),” Afif said at a discussion event on environmental and climate change issues in the 2024 election in Jakarta, as quoted from Antara, on Thursday, Nov. 2.
Afif said the debates would be held between November 20, 2023, and February 10, 2024, during the campaign period. He claimed that the agency has not yet fully prepared as discussions with the campaign team of each pair of candidates were still ongoing. Besides, the KPU has not yet announced the official participants of the upcoming presidential election.
