TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The traffic department of the National Police is readying its institution to anticipate traffic congestion during the Christmas and New Year holidays. On Thursday, the police inspected the Semarang-Surabaya toll route.
The inspection was conducted at the Rest Area for KM 575 A in Ngawi, East Java, to ensure the availability and readiness of the parking areas. Police also inspected Bungurasih Bus Station in Sidoarjo.
"Several roads in East Java are still being maintained and widened. According to the Traffic Director of the East Java regional police, it will be finished by December 15," said Traffic Director of the National Police, Brigadier General Aan Suhanan, as quoted from the NTMC website today, Friday, November 3, 2023.
According to Aan, the East Java regional police will focus on tourist destinations and congestion-risked roads, whether toll roads or other routes.
Earlier, the police also conducted a route inspection from the Cikopo Traffic Post, Purwakarta, to Kalikangkung Post, Central Java. Aan informed that his side has prepared strategic anticipation in case of traffic congestion from limiting goods transport to contraflow.
Aan also expected that the traffic flow will overlap from Cisumdawu and Cipali at KM 152, The said traffic overlaps from Jakarta and Bandung will be anticipated by implementing contraflow.
Furthermore, inspections are also being conducted at Cikopo Post in West Java to KM 86 A and KM 153 A, the entrance to Cisumdawu and Cipali.
