TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Director of Jakarta-owned developer PT Jakarta Propertindo or Jakpro, Iwan Takwin, said the project of LRT Jakarta Phase 1B on the Velodrome-Manggarai route costs Rp5.5 trillion. Of the total figure, Rp4.6 trillion is used for the construction cost in collaboration with four companies.
The four companies are PT Waskita Karya, PT Nindya Karya, PT LEN Railways System, and Joint Operation (JO).
“There are various costs, [such as] construction costs, consultants, and others. So, the total is Rp5.5 trillion,” Iwan said after the groundbreaking ceremony of the project at the Jakarta International Velodrome in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, on Monday, Oct. 30.
For the Phase 1B project, Jakpro will add five stations, namely Pemuda Rawamangun Station, Pramuka BPKP Station, Pasar Pramuka Station, Matraman Station, and Manggarai Station.
The length of the Velodrome-Manggarai line reaches 6.4 kilometers, while the Phase 1A line reaches 5.8 kilometers. Thus, the total length of the LRT Jakarta route is 12.2 kilometers.
The LRT Jakarta has an optimistic ridership target of 180,000 passengers and a realistic target of around 80,000 to 100,000 passengers daily.
Tempo observed that fences for the project have been installed in the Rawamangun area. There was also some construction equipment and officers who had started the work, including sterilizing the route.
Earlier this month, Jakarta Transportation Agency head Syafrin Liputo said the city administration expected the construction of the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B to be completed within three years. “The construction will take 36 months,” he said as quoted from Antara on Thursday, Oct. 5.
