Jokowi Hosts Lunch for Anies, Prabowo, and Ganjar at State Palace Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi hosted lunch for three presidential candidates Anies Baswedan, Ganjar Pranowo, and Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, today, October 30, 2023.
The meeting between the President and the three presidential candidates commenced at around 12:30 p.m. local time. Jokowi was seen wearing a long-sleeved white batik, while Anies, Prabowo, and Ganjar wear brown batik.
The lunch took place in the dining room of the Merdeka Palace. Seated at a round white table, Jokowi sat opposite Anies Baswedan, with Ganjar on his right, and Prabowo on his left.
What the four discussed during the lunch is not yet known. Vice presidential candidates did not take part in the meeting, including Jokowi’s son who is Prabowo’s running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
At the commemoration event of National Santri Day in Surabaya, on October 22, Jokowi said he would support all pairs of candidates in the 2024 presidential election. “I support everyone for a better Indonesia,” he said.
When asked if he would also support the opposition-backed candidate, Anies Baswedan, Jokowi confirmed, “[I support] all.”
