BMKG Says Still No Chance of Rain in Jakarta Today but Neighbors

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Today’s weather forecast released by the BMKG for Jakarta is the same as it was yesterday: no chance of rain. For the regions surrounding the capital, however, the rain potential is higher than the day before.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), partly cloudy skies will greet Jakarta this morning. In the afternoon, South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta will be cloudy.
In the evening, partly cloudy skies will prevail in all city areas except for the Thousand Islands, which will be sunny.
The air temperature is forecast to reach a maximum of 33 degrees Celsius in West Jakarta, South Jakarta, and East Jakarta, with a maximum air humidity of 85 percent.
For Jakarta's neighbors, the agency reported the potential for light rain in Bekasi City tonight after a sunny morning and cloudy afternoon and in Depok City and Cibinong in Bogor Regency this afternoon and evening.
Depok will start the day with sunny weather, while Cibinong will be sunny and cloudy in the morning. There is also a chance of moderate rain in Bogor City tonight.
Apart from that, the agency issued an early warning for moderate to heavy rain with lightning and strong winds on a local scale for a short period between afternoon and evening in parts of Bogor Regency, Bogor City, and Depok City.
Rain chances are also forecast for Serpong (South Tangerang) and Tigaraksa (Tangerang Regency) in the afternoon after sunny skies in the morning. At night, the weather will be cloudy. Meanwhile, Tangerang City will be sunny in the morning and cloudy for the rest of the day.
BMKG also predicted that the maximum air temperature throughout Greater Jakarta will reach 36 degrees Celsius today.
