KPK Arrests Syahrul Yasin Limpo, under Examination

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo. “SYL is already at KPK,” said an official on Thursday, October 12, 2023.

KPK has been monitoring the movement of Syahrul Yasin Limpo since earlier today. He was seen at around Visi Law Firm, the office of Febri Diansyah, who is also the attorney of the NasDem politician.

Syahrul Yasin Limpo was nabbed in the South Jakarta area by KPK since he might be accused of destroying evidence. KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri has yet to respond to the arrest. Syahrul Yasin Limpo’s attorney, Febri Diansyah, was still looking for information regarding the arrest. 

"We’re checking at the KPK building right now," said Febri Diansyah.

In today’s afternoon, Febri Diansyah said that his client would comply with KPK’s summons tomorrow, October 13. Syahrul Yasin Limpo did not comply with the summons for questioning as a suspect on Wednesday, October 11 because he was visiting his sick mother in Makassar.
