SMTOWN LIVE 2023 Jakarta, Indonesian Fans Proud Wearing Batik

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - SMTOWN LIVE 2023 will be held this evening at 18:30 at the main stadium of Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta. The concertgoers have been flocking to the area and entering the stadium since 15:00.
The promoter Dyandra Global Edutainment previously announced batik as the dress code for the concert. One of the NCT fans, known as NCTzen, named Viza admitted that she was proud to wear batik to watch his idol's concert. "Of course, I’m proud of it, so I can show to the SMTOWN people that Indonesia has beautiful batik [patterns]," said Viza to Tempo at GBK area on Saturday, September 23.
She said that the batik dress code is the right decision to show our identity as Indonesians. "[Showing that] we don't forget our identity as Indonesian citizens. Even though we like foreign cultures, we don't forget Indonesian culture," said the woman from Bogor.
A Super Junior fan a.k.a ELF from Jakarta named Riri also shared a similar thing. She said she has been preparing since a month ago specifically for today's SMTOWN LIVE Jakarta. Her choice fell on pink batik from her own collection.
Riri was amazed to see the creativity of the audience in mixing and matching batik which is synonymous with formal events. "Usually batik is synonymous with formal, for going to the office or at an event. It turns out it can also be used for watching concerts," said Riri.
SMTOWN LIVE 2023 Performers
Artists and musicians of SM Entertainment, such as TVXQ, SUPER JUNIOR, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, aespa, and RIIZE would perform at the SMTOWN LIVE 2023 SMCU PALACE @JAKARTA concert. Jakarta was chosen as the host of SMTOWN LIVE 2023 after 11 years.
