PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) GM Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunissa confirmed that the situation at Halim Station of Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train is now under control following the fire that broke out in the early hours of today, September 11, at 00.30 Jakarta time.
“It has been confirmed that the interior of the station building is in good condition and all functions can operate normally,” Eva said in a written statement on Monday.
Eva explained that a, electric spark occurred on the roof of the east side of the train platform, or precisely in the roofing protection layer. KCIC then coordinated with the East Jakarta Fire Department, and the fire was successfully extinguished.
2. KCIC Says Fire Incident in Halim Station Doesn't Affect Trial Schedule
The joint venture of Indonesian and Chinese railway companies, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC), confirmed that the fire incident at Halim Station would not disrupt the trial schedule of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train.
Earlier reported, a fire broke out on the platform roof of Halim Station in the early hours of Monday, September 11, 2023.
“There is no operational disruption. The trial schedule will stay on track,” PT KCIC's GM Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunissa, told Tempo via a text message on Monday, September 11, 2023.
3. Jokowi Meets with Macron Discussing IKN Investment, Energy Transition Project
Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi and Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan met with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi, India, on September 9 to 10, 2023.
Zulkifli Hasan or Zulhas said the meeting discussed France's plans and commitments including the investment in Indonesia’s new capital city project IKN and energy transition projects. “Indonesia hopes that this plan will soon be realized,” he said in a statement on Sunday, September 10.
He recalled that in June 2023, the French Ambassador to Indonesia and a French business delegation visited IKN in East Kalimantan which resulted in four Letters of Intent (LoI) to support the project development.
