5 Best Sunset Spots in Bali

31 August 2023 13:21 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaOne of the most special moments on a Bali vacation is watching the sun’s setting. Indonesia’s Island of the Gods is packed with places to see the best golden sunsets.

Some of the renowned places are Tanah Lot, Kuta, Double Six, Kelingking Beach, and Jimbaran. In addition to these, here are the five best sunset spots in Bali:

1. Kelan Beach

Only 10 minutes away from Ngurah Rai Airport, Kelan Beach should be on your must-visit list to see the magical sunset with views of planes taking off or landing. The area is open 24 hours and is child-friendly for its serene waves.

2. Dreamland Beach

Located in Pecatu, Dreamland Beach is usually a stopover place for tourists after visiting the world’s second-tallest statue, Garuda Wisnu Kencana. Tourists can expect turquoise deep blue sea and clean white sand while for sunsets under a rented sundeck.

The parking fee is set at Rp5,000 for motorcycles and Rp20,000 for cars. The area is open from 7 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.

3. Batu Bolong Beach

This next destination is situated in Canggu, northern Kuta, Bali. Batu Bolong Beach offers unique sundown views, like being up close to the sky and clouds. There are also restaurants and shops so you can enjoy a meal or go shopping while waiting for the golden view. Tourists are only charged Rp5,000 for parking.

4. Honeymoon Beach

Honeymoon Beach, located in Jimbaran, is suitable for picnic dates with views of picturesque green grass on coral rocks. As the sun goes down, you can expect beautiful orange vistas that light up the sky.

This hidden gem place is best for those who are not comfortable with crowds. It is recommended to come here by motorbike due to the small roads. Entrance and parking are free.

5. Petitenget Beach

Unlike the crowded beaches of Kuta or Jimbaran, Petitenget Beach in Seminyak offers a serene atmosphere. There are restaurants, cafes, and bars for tourists to enjoy with a vibrant sunset view.

The popular tourist spot, however, is a little more crowded in the evening for its wonderful sunset views as the sun appears bigger. Petitenget Beach in Bali is open to the public and free of charge, tourists are only charged a parking fee of Rp2,000 for motorbikes and Rp5,000 for cars.
