INKA Apologizes for Technical Issues at LRT Jabodebek

TEMPO.CO, Madiun - State-owned train manufacturer PT Industri Kereta Api or INKA has spoken up about the LRT Jabodebek breakdown during its third day of operation on Wednesday, August 30, which resulted in the evacuation of passengers from Bekasi.
A spokesperson for INKA, Agung Dwi Cahyono, said that one of the malfunctions was at the train door. “INKA is focused on solving troubles related to the door which have been frequent recently,” he said on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
According to him, the LRT connecting Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi was operated with the Grade of Automation level 3 or GoA3 technology, so all parts including the door are monitored by sensors. However, there were still technical problems in its operation.
“What is being evaluated and repaired is the less centric mechanical system due to vibration and unresponsive limit switch,” Agung explained.
He ensured that INKA as the producer would continue to improve the operation of the train. The repair of the door system malfunction will be completed in the shortest possible time.
“We’d also like to apologize for the disturbance and inconvenience. We are committed to providing the best experience to LRT users,” Agung remarked.
On Wednesday, there was another disruption to LRT Jabodebek occurred in Halim. The train from Bekasi experienced a power outage caused by a fault in the Traction Power Supply Sybstanstion (TPSS).
