Sandiaga Uno to Include Batam Bajafash in National Annual Event

31 July 2023 09:18 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Batam - Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno appreciated the holding of Bajafash or Batam Jazz and Fashion in Batam City on July 28-29, 2023. The event was planned to be included in the ministry's annual calendar of events.

“I will instruct the director of national and international events to include Bajafash in the annual event calendar,” Sandiaga said in his speech at the opening of Bajafash 2023 at the Panbil Nature Reserve Eco Edu Park on Friday, July 28, 2023.

Sandiaga opined that this ecosystem of music and fashion activities creates an international-class event, expecting it to attract more local and foreign tourists.

Bajafash Founder and Advisor, Indina Putri Fadjar, said Bajafash is a musical agenda that consistently promotes beautiful collaborations between jazz music performances and fashion shows of international and national musicians, local heroes, and renowned designers.

“We hope [Bajafash] to be included in the national agenda and God willing, this is the way for Batam,” said Indina.

Batam Tourism and Culture Agency head Ardiwinata welcomed the presence of Bajafash which brought a new color for the city since it was first held until the fifth show. “Bajafash proves that Batam has excellent potential that can be offered to the international market,” he said
