TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT. Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) along with the Directorate General for Trains (DJKA) of the Transporation Ministry and the contractors conducted the first facility and infrastructure inspection of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Train (KCJB). The inspection was conducted in several phases as part of a series of operational preparation. "The test for facilities and infrastructure started on June 12, 2023, and still continues in several operational areas," said General Manager Corporate Secretary KCIC Eva Chairunisa in a written statement on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
The first inspection was also intended to gain an infrastructure operational permit, starting from the document framework examination, physical framework examination, and function examination. The document framework examination was conducted to ensure the project document complied with the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 3 of 2022 on High-Speed Train Implementation. Meanwhile, the physical framework examination was conducted to ensure that the field condition, the document framework, and the regulation were harmonious.
Lastly, the function examination was conducted within several required parameters. The inspection was divided into two aspects, namely the rail and structure inspection and the operational facility inspection. The first inspection includes the railway yard, bridges, and tunnels. For the railway, the inspected objects are the rail, turnout, rail sleeper, and rail anchors. Meanwhile, the second inspection includes signaling, telecommunication, and electricity.
"As the first high-speed train service in Southeast Asia, KCIC and the Ministry of Transportation conducts the inspection carefully. Every aspect is gradually inspected to ensure the train could operate safely and comfortably," said Eva.
