TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II), in tandem with Jakarta-owned bus operator PT Transjakarta, will start a trial run of buses serving the route to Soekarno-Hatta Airport on July 4, 2023.
“The trial starts on July 4 for one month,” said Executive General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport Dwi Ananda Wicaksana to Tempo, Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
During the trial run, the bus fare for the airport route will be free.
Dwi said the main target of the bus service is workers in the airport. “That's why the operating hours and the stops are adjusted [to the workers],” he added.
AP II, he explained, had surveyed workers at the airport to get input on which routes should be served by Transjakarta buses. “So the need for route services is right on target while considering the travel time too.”
Dwi also said that his side studied regulations on the route and others to ensure the bus operation follows applicable rules.
During the trial run, the Transjakarta airport bus in the airport area will pass through the Immigration stop, the parking stop, and the Soekarno-Hatta roundabout stop. Yet the routes may be subject to change.
