TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Embassy in Moscow calls on Indonesian citizens residing in Russia to stay calm, vigilant, and follow instructions issued by local government and official news sources. This is issued following the revolt launched by the Wagner mercenary group, led by Yevgeny Prigozhin who was once a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Indonesian citizens are asked to always carry an identity document, such as a passport when traveling and doing daily activities. “This is due to possible rising security measures in public places, public transportation, train stations, and airports,” the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow wrote in a circular published on its official Instagram, Sunday, June 25.
Indonesian citizens in Moscow and Moscow Oblast are advised to limit trips out of town except for urgent needs and refrain from traveling to Rostov and Voronezh.
Indonesian citizens in Rostov and Voronezh are encouraged to comply with local government directives not to leave the house/dormitory/residence if there is no urgent need.
Indonesian citizens are also urged to register themselves online via https://peduliwni.Kemlu.go.di for those who have not done so. The Embassy opens a hotline number +7495951954951 during working hours.
The Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Director of Citizen Protection and Legal Aid, Judha Nugraha, stated that there are 14 Indonesians in Voronezh and 11 in Rostov, Russia.
