TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia China High-speed Railway (KCIC) president director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi on Thursday announced that the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project construction is 92 percent completed.
“The physical progress has already reached 92 percent,” said Dwiyana at the Halim Station in East Jakarta on June 22.
He elaborated that there are a number of incomplete projects such as the Halim and Padalarang stations that are due to relocations. However, he said he is positive that the preoperation or soft launching of the high-speed rail on August 18 can be conducted on schedule.
He also believes that the certificate of operational feasibility for the high-speed train infrastructure will complete before the soft launch on August 18, 2023, and said KCIC had submitted it to the Ministry of Transportation.
Regarding the high-speed train's roadworthiness certification, the Transportation Ministry’s Director General of Railways Risal Wasal said KCIC is confident that the tests would go without any major hiccups. According to Risal, the application for the test and certification process will be carried out by KCIC.
The Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway will conduct a test on August 18. Passengers destined for Bandung from Jakarta are able to ride the train from Halim Station to Padalarang Station.
