TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Transportation Agency stated that the Transjakarta bus operating at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is part of its development program considering the service gaps in certain segments, namely airport workers.
“So now, it needs to be understood that Transjakarta actually already serves not only to, for example, the airport, but also to Bekasi and Depok areas,” Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Syafrin Liputo said when met in South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
He said the lack of service for this segment was discovered during the visit of Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi and Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono to Soekarno-Hatta Airport at the end of last May.
According to Syafrin, passengers willing to continue their journey by air have been served by airport trains and passenger buses serving regular Jabodetabek Airport Connection. “They are available,” he added.
In contrast, there is no transportation service for the segment of airport workers, so the Jakarta-owned bus company filled the void.
Syafrin underlined that the airport bus is a public transport that can be used by the public. “Once again, this is not an employee bus, it is public transport serving the airport area.”
He also said the Transjakarta airport bus is prioritized for Soekarno-Hatta Airport workers. “We do not stop at the airport passenger terminal, as well as departure and arrival terminals. Among the bus stops are the cargo terminal and AP II office,” he informed.
