TEMPO.CO, Batam - Coordinating Minister of Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto on Monday expressed optimism for the Riau Island’s attraction in the eyes of future investors after he claimed businesses showing interest to invest there. He mentioned this as he launched six new companies in Batam City’s Wiraraja Industrial Park Punggur area.
New companies that were launched consist of PT. Jaya Electrical Energy, Marubeni Global Indonesia, Wiraraja Yunan International, Apolo Solar Indonesia, Alpha Solar and Tynergi Technology Indonesia.
“The investment that we are launching today has a large investment value as it reaches US$ 800 million or around Rp12 trillion and will be able to attract 13,000 workforces,” Airlangga elaborated.
He attributed this inauguration event to Batam City’s ease of investment nature which include improved bureaucracy and other services that better accommodate investors into the city.
“This condition must be maintained to keep attracting investments into the Riau Islands that eventually can improve the welfare of the island’s population,” said Economic Affairs Coordinating Minister.
Governor Ansar said his government had taken various steps and breakthroughs to overcome the lasting effects of the pandemic that has disrupted the pace of the investment climate and the economy.
Meanwhile, the President Director of the Wiraraja Group, Ahmad Ma'ruf Airlangga, said that most of the firms inaugurated today originate from a multitude of countries, including America, China, Singapore, and domestic companies. Some of these companies themselves are engaged in the refining of silicon up to the plastics industry.
