Police Drug Bust Reveals Major Production Facility in Tangerang

2 June 2023 23:26 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police Main Headquarters (Mabes Polri) and the Customs and Excise Directorate General successfully uncovered a massive drug factory located in a luxurious house in Swan City residential complex in Tangerang Regency.

“The ecstasy producer is able to produce on average 3,000 ecstasy pills in 30 minutes," said police commissioner Agus Andrianto in front of the house on Friday, June 2, 2023.

According to Tempo’s observation, the two-story luxury house was already blocked by a police line. The house emits a strong scent as Tempo entered the house. There were large supplies of raw materials and machinery used to produce the drug.

Police confiscated thousands of distribution-ready ecstasy pills along with dozens of kilograms of its raw materials.

Authorities were initially tipped off by excise officers concerning a suspicious delivery for a machine that is used to produce the drug.

The Police said that there is a similar drug production facility located in Central Java’s Semarang region. “In total, there are four suspects and two people are still on the run,” said police commissioner Agus.
