TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The management of Ancol Dreamland Park (Taman Impian Jaya Ancol) announced on Monday that visitors will not be charged with entry fee into the coastal tourist site for an entire month starting from May 21 to June 22 in celebrating Jakarta’s 468th anniversary.
However, this free entry will only apply to afternoon-evening visits that start from 5 pm-11 pm local time and do not include fees for vehicles entering the area. Visitors will only need to pay for the vehicle entry fee of Rp25,000 for cars and Rp15,000 for motorcycles.
This policy differs from previous years where the program was only implemented during the city’s anniversary instead of an entire month.
PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol president director Winarto said the regionally-owned enterprise has introduced this to support the city’s annual festivity. “Through lifting individual entry fees at the Ancol Dreamland Park for one whole month,” he said, state news agency Antara reported on May 22.
A variety of events will enliven the city’s anniversary through the Betawi culinary festival and art performances.
Those planning to visit Ancol can book entry tickets free of charge through its official website at www.ancol.com under the ‘purchase ticket’ feature before clicking ‘Ancol Reguler’ and ‘gratis sebulan ke Ancol’ or ‘free into Ancol for a month.’ Despite not restricting quotas, the website’s account holder will only be permitted to book one entry ticket.
