TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati along with her Japanese counterpart Shun'ichi Suzuki and Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman met with Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masatsugu Asakawa and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol.
“It is a very valuable opportunity to discuss bilateral relations between South Korea and both ADB and Indonesia and other countries that are also present,” said Sri via her personal Instagram account on Thursday, May 4.
Sri explained that the meeting occurred yesterday in the series of events of the 56th ADB Annual Meeting, which included the Governors' Luncheon, Governors' Seminar, and the ADB Institute Session that discussed ADB's support for the G20 and G7.
On the same day, Sri also talked about cooperation with other Finance Ministers attending the meeting in Incheon, South Korea, such as from Japan, South Korea, and Fiji. “All of them talk about constructive and productive cooperation between Indonesia and their countries,” she recalled.
Sri had the opportunity to open a business forum which was an initiative of the Indonesian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Korea, Gandi Sulistiyanto Soeherman. The forum brought together the Indonesian government and potential investors, particularly regarding renewable energy.
In order to realize the philosophy of a just and affordable energy transition, Sri Mulyani revealed that Indonesia continues to be committed to ensuring four things; the stability of the availability of essential services such as electricity; the price stability for energy, food, and public transportation; social protection for the poor and vulnerable groups; and the implementation of sustainable development principles.
