TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo was scheduled to distribute cash assistance (BLT) to traders at Johar Baru Market and Rawamangun Market, Central Jakarta, today morning, April 5. This social assistance is aimed at helping traders to increase the number of commodities they are selling.
“The amount is Rp1.2 million per trader,” Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono said to Tempo on Wednesday, April 5.
The assistance package will be directly handed by Jokowi or not involving the relevant ministries. The number of packages will later be adjusted to conditions on the field.
The state head always distributes cash aid every time visiting the traditional market. Recently, the act was conducted to traders at East Luwu Market, South Sulawesi on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Apart from distributing cash assistance, Jokowi visited the traditional markets to check prices and availability of basic commodities, as well as listen to input from the public. Today’s visit to Rawamangun Market and Johar Baru Market this morning also aimed at inspecting prices and finding out the availability of basic commodities on the market.
