Rules for Breaking the Fast during Ramadan on Transjakarta Bus

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta transportation firm, Transjakarta, has imposed iftar regulations for passengers during the month of Ramadan 1444 Hijri. Transjakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head Apriastini Bakti Bugiansri said passengers were allowed to break their fast at Transjakarta bus stops and buses.
"To customers who are fasting in Ramadan 1444 Hijriah and will break their fast in the Transjakarta area, both at bus stops and on the bus, we are happy to welcome them," he said in a statement, Thursday, March 23, 2023.
Nevertheless, he called on the passengers to maintain cleanliness and comply with the applicable regulations.
The company set seven regulations for breaking the fast in the Transjakarta area:
- Complying with the applicable Covid-19 health protocols
- Eating and drinking are allowed only when breaking the fast by consuming water, dates or snacks, and the likes
- Not allowed to eat full meals, such as rice with side dishes and other fast food
- Eating and drinking are only allowed a maximum of 10 minutes after the call to a maghrib prayer
- Masks are removed when breaking the fast and must be put back on when finished
- When taking off the mask to eat and drink, it is not permitted to talk directly or via cellphone
- Maintain cleanliness and order
"The management, directors, and employees of Transjakarta wish you a happy fasting month of Ramadan 1444 Hijri," said Apriastini.
