TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In the current era of social media, lots of content creators such as YouTubers or TikTokers are competing to create content that is viral. One type of content that is often viral on social media is the one that contains recommendations for places of hidden gems.

Hidden gem itself is a term that is often used to describe something that is nice or beautiful but not known by many people. In this case, it can refer to tourist sites or culinary spots

In Jakarta, there are many places to eat or restaurants that are really good but not many people know about, these places are considered hidden gems.

Here is a list of several hidden gem cafe and restaurants in Jakarta that you must visit this weekend:

1. Pantjoran Tea House

The first place that you must visit is the Pantjoran Tea House which is located at Jalan Pancoran No. 4 - 6, Glodok, West Jakarta. Quoted from the Pantjoran Tea House website, here you can enjoy brewing various types of tea with a unique presentation and not found in many other places, namely the gongfu cha tradition which uses authentic traditional Chinese style.

While enjoying tea here, you will be assisted by a tea specialist from the Pantjoran Tea House. Besides tea, of course, this restaurant sells a variety of food menus and coffee. The building of this restaurant is an old building that has quite a long history of past Jakarta which is certainly very unique and great for you to capture.

2. Kashiwa

For those of you who like Japanese food, then this restaurant is the right choice. Kashiwa is located at Jalan Melawai VIII No.3, RW.1, Melawai, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. This place sells various kinds of Japanese specialties such as yakitori, okonomiyaki, and many more. This restaurant also has a very strong Japanese feel with various decorations such as posters in Japanese and TV broadcasts that is also broadcasting in Japanese.

3. Kampoeng Gallery

This place is located at Jalan Masjid Al Huda No.1, RT.5/RW.1, Kby. Lama Utara, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. Cafe Kampoeng Gallery is filled with works of art, and it is also considered as hidden gem

In this cafe, which is also a gallery, visitors can find various kinds of antiques which are the private collection of the owner, Ivan Moningka. The location of this cafe is at the end of the Kebayoran Lama train station, close to the flea market. That's why in this cafe you can find ancient antiques ranging from books, vinyl records, displays, and so on.

4. Wancan

This hidden gem in South Jakarta is definitely worth visiting. Located in the Golden Plaza Complex, Jalan RS. Fatmawati Raya No.15, Jakarta, Wancan brings a contemporary feel which is of course being a hit lately among young people.

Singapore-style Hainanese rice is served with various side dishes such as poached chicken, roasted chicken, soy sauce tofu, soy sauce egg and fried meatballs. Apart from serving delicious food, the atmosphere of the dining area is really good for taking pictures with the feel of an old Chinese restaurant. This place has neat tables and chairs with a distance between one table and another.

5. Claypot Popo

Next, from South Jakarta, Claypot Popo, which is located on Jalan Melawai IX No. 38 (2nd Floor), Melawai, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta is also a must visit. Originally Claypot Popo was located in Pasar Santa area. This place is really a hidden gem because if you don't pay close attention, you won't know that this place exists because the entrance is small and closed.

This cafe also carries an old-timey atmosphere that makes visitors feel nostalgic as if they were eating at grandma's house. The food menu here is also delicious and relatively cheap.
