TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Center for Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis (PPATK) stated that they have been monitoring transactions conducted by tax official Rafael Alun Trisambodo. Based on the results, PPATK discovered a massive number of suspicious transactions.
"It is considered massive back then, and even now," said Chief of the PPATK Ivan Yustiavandana to Tempo on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Ivan said that the suspicious transactions were transactions that did not match Rafael's profile. In addition to the value, Ivan explained that PPATK also labelled the transactions as suspicious because it uses nominees or third parties. The use of nominees are often intended to obscure the actual party conducting the transaction. "Its massive, and involve so many parties," Ivan said.
Ivan added that the PPATK has handed over the results of the analysis on the transactions to law enforcement officers a few years ago. However, Ivan refused to provide details on the analysis.
Similarly, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) also highlighted Rafael's assets listed in the State Apparatus Assets Report submitted previously. KPK's preliminary analysis revealed that Rafael's assets did not match his profile.
"We said that this is a case where a tax official profile did not match with his assets," said KPK's Deput for Prevention and Monitoring Pahala Nainggolan on Thursday, February 23, 2023.
Pahala explained that Rafael is an Echelon III official of the Directorate General of Tax. Based on Rafael's salary, his more than Rp50 billion assets is suspicious. "It does not match," Pahala said.
Pahala said that the KPK will soon summon Rafael to clarify his assets.
Recently, Rafale Alun Trisambodo went under the spotlight because of the battering committed by his son Mario Dandy Satriyo. Mario was declared as a suspect in the battering of David Latumahina. David remains unconscious until now, and the Police has named Mario as a suspect.
