Kebayoran Lama Skywalk to Be Inaugurated Tuesday, The Longest in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Kebayoran Lama Skywalk connecting the Kebayoran KRL Station and Transjakarta bus stop will be inaugurated on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.
Chairil, Head of the Kebayoran KRL Station, said that the opening trial was carried out from Saturday to Monday. “Yes, this is still a trial run. It will be inaugurated tomorrow,” Chairil told Tempo, at Kebayoran Station, South Jakarta on Monday, January 23, 2023.
The bridge (JPO) connects Transjakarta Velbak bus stop (Line 13), Pasar Kebayoran Lama bus stop (Line 8), and Kebayoran Lama KRL Station. Later, the bridge will become a place for transferring bus passengers to the train station and vice versa.
On Saturday, January 21, 2023, the bridge trial started from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM; on Sunday from 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM; and on Monday from 05:30 AM to 10:00 PM. On Tuesday, the skywalk will be temporarily closed until 03:30 PM.
Head of the Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Hari Nugroho, said that the construction of the Skywalk was started on March 23, 2022, and was completed on November 30, 2022. According to Hari, this is the longest crossing bridge in Jakarta.
'Kebayoran Lama Skywalk is the longest in Jakarta with a total of 450 meters, compared to the Poins Square Skywalk in Lebak Bulus which is 300 meters long,” Hari said in a statement on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
The Provincial Government through the Bina Marga Agency equipped the skywalk with an elevator, escalators, and colorful lights along the left and right side of the skywalk.
Based on Tempo's observation on Monday, January 23, 2023, a number of people passed the bridge from Kebayoran KRL Station to the Velbak bus stop and vice versa. Security officers from Transjakarta and KRL guarded the gate.
