TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2023 agenda which is going to be held in Yogyakarta in February 2023 will provide services for foreign delegates who purchase typical souvenirs produced by local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The Chief Executive of ATF 2023, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Bendara, stated that the Yogyakarta Cooperative and Small and medium-sized enterprises (UKM) services will provide free shipping for ATF delegates who buy items and goods from MSMEs in Yogyakarta.
Free Shipping Facility for Participants
"This free shipping facility is so that the delegate participants won't hesitate to buy souvenirs from Yogyakarta MSME, because they can ship to their respective countries without charge," said Bendara, Wednesday, December 28, 2022.
Bendara said that the event which will be attended by 700 delegates from 10 ASEAN member countries plus 5 countries in Asia is expected to be able to boost the Yogyakarta economy, especially from the tourism sector and MSMEs. The government has currently sorted and curated which MSMEs are going to be presented at the event. "There will be approximately 6 to 10 types of local Yogya MSME products on display," said Bendara.
The Asean Tourism Forum as an international tourism event is aimed to bring about an economic turnaround for MSMEs in Yogyakarta. One of the main agendas of the event is the Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) so that MSMEs in Yogyakarta can be involved. "This event is also a pathway for Yogyakarta to reach its target by 2025 to become one of the best cultural tourism destinations in Southeast Asia," he said.
The Asean Tourism Forum is the Great Gate for Yogyakarta Tourism
From the event, it is hoped that there will be many delegates from abroad who take their time to return to visit Yogyakarta. "The ASEAN Tourism Forum is like a big gate that will be unlocked together so that foreign delegate participants can see the potential in Yogya's tourism," he said.
There are two main agendas in the Asean Tourism Forum. The first agenda is in the form of ministerial meetings of tourism ministers from 10 ASEAN countries and five invited Asian countries such as China, South Korea, Japan, India and Russia. The second agenda in the ATF is the Travel Exchange which is held at the Jogja Expo Center (JEC), Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta.
