Symptoms of Overthinking and How You Can Overcome It

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - People who like to think excessively or overthink often hinder themselves from solving problems. In fact, many people also often don't realize they are overthinking, which is a moment when people are lost in thoughts, resulting in anxiety and worry for themselves. 

Without realizing it, this state of mind can be extremely draining both in energy and time.

Symptoms of overthinking can be identified through the following characteristics:

-Sleep Difficulties 

When someone experiences overthinking, the mind and brain continue to force them to think which also leads to negative assumptions. Of course, this makes it difficult for the brain to rest. It can also fuel feelings of anxiety and fear that make it difficult for people to sleep.

-Constantly Tired

Constant tiresome is a result of thinking too much. When people think too much, this can cause stress and the body will be exhausted.

-Fears of Facing the Future 

Another impact of overthinking is that it tends to make people feel afraid of facing the future. There are cases where an individual remains unhappy with what the person has achieved and worries about facing the future.

-Hesitation

One of the characteristics of overthinking is that it tends to force people to dwell in insecurity, especially with self-assessment. Overthinking people always don't believe in self-assessment, so they generally always ask other people's opinions.

Overcoming Overthinking Tendencies

Examples of overthinking have often been experienced by many people and should be handled properly. There are several ways you can try to reduce overthinking:

-Lift Yourself Up with Positive Words

The first way to get rid of overthinking is to express positive words to yourself. These words are powerful enough to overcome overthinking.

-Simply Rest

Rest is a very important point to be able to reduce anxiety. You have to rest your mind and body without the need to think about things that make you worry and fear things that had happened or have yet to take place. Overthinking can have quite a serious impact on body health, one of which is stress, and even depression.
