TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) director of specific crimes General Pipit Rismanto denies rumors of summoning the head of the Food and Drugs Monitoring Agency (BPOM). He clarified that police will only question BPOM officials in relation to the investigation of the child acute kidney injury cases.
He made sure that the officials of BPOM will be questioned about how the quality of medicines are overseen by the agency.
"There is no summons of the Head of BPOM, only officials related to quality control issues. The officials who will be summoned tomorrow (Wednesday, November 23, 2022) are definitely related officials, for example, the supervising director," Pipit said to Tempo on November 22.
The Criminal Investigation Unit has named the individual known as E who acts as the owner of CV Samudra Chemical as a suspect in the acute kidney injury cases among children. At the same time of this suspect naming, other individuals from PT Afi Farma and CV Samudra Chemical were also named as suspects.
