TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Police’s internal affairs division summoned five West Sumatra Police officers over the alleged sale of 5 kg confiscated illegal drugs involving former chief West Sumatra Police Insp. Gen. Teddy Minahasa and former chief of Bukittinggi Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Dody Prawira.
West Sumatra Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Dwi Sulistya said five personnel were summoned at different times. Two personnel left for Jakarta today, October 18, to fulfill the call, while the other three will depart on Wednesday.
“The five policemen are commissioner, adjunct commissioner, first brigadier, and brigadier,” Dwi explained, adding that they will be examined as witnesses.
They are the former deputy chief of the resort police, the former head of the police’s evidence care unit (Kasat Tahti), the former head of the Bukittinggi Police’s internal affairs unit, and an investigator tasked with the illegal drug trafficking case weighing 41.4 kilograms by the Bukittinggi Police some time ago.
“The Head of the Agam Police’s Narcotics Unit who was on duty at the Bukittinggi Police was also investigated,” he added. “They will be asked regarding the alleged violation of the code of ethics of the former West Sumatra Police chief,” Dwi reiterated.
As widely reported, Teddy Minahasa allegedly asked Dody Prawiranegara to take methamphetamine from evidence confiscated by Bukittinggi Police. The case was revealed following the arrest of drug dealers by the Metro Jaya Police.
