TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The East Java Regional Police Chief, Insp. Gen. Teddy Minahasa, was reportedly arrested in a drug-related case. The information is circulating among media people after House of Representative's Commission III deputy Ahmad Sahroni conveyed the information.

Meanwhile, the National Police Chief, Gen. Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said he will give an official statement this afternoon concerning rumors of Teddy Minahasa's arrest.
"I'll have an official release this afternoon after [the meeting] at the Palace," Listy told Antara.

The Police's PR head, Insp. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo, said that the National Police Chief would give a press statement Friday afternoon.
Police Insp. Gen. Teddy Minahasa previously served as the West Sumatra Police Chief. He was later appointed as the East Java Regional Police Chief replacing Insp. Gen. Nico Afinta, who was transferred as Expert Staff to the National Police Chief in the field of Socio-Cultural Affairs.
