Lombok Airport Opens International Route from Singapore

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lombok International Airport has officially opened a new route from Singapore, served by Scoot TR-258 airline.

"The international flight of Singapore-Lombok is operated by Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), starting on October 16, 2022," said public relations official of PT Angkasa Pura I of Lombok Airport, Arif Haryanto in Praya, Saturday, September 24. 

Lombok Airport has officially operated the international route from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Meanwhile, the Lombok-Singapura round-trip operates twice a week on every Wednesday and Sunday.

Scoot aircraft will depart from Singapore at 07:50 local time and arrive in Lombok at 10:20 central Indonesia time (WITA). On the reverse route, the flight will depart from Lombok at 11:20 WITA and arrive in Singapore at 14:05 local time.

Previously, Lombok International Airport opened an additional slot for a new domestic route from and to Surabaya. This new route is operated by Super Air Jet. "The new Lombok-Surabaya round-trip route is operating every day," said Arif. 

The Indonesian government is boosting airport operators and airlines to add flight frequency for domestic and international routes to mitigate the high price of flight tickets. The scarcity of routes and flight frequency is one of the causes of the recent ticket prices soaring.
