TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport expanded its domestic flight route options by introducing the Balikpapan - Denpasar round trip that will be operated by Lion Air twice a week on Fridays and Sundays.
"Today, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali serves the inaugural flight from Balikpapan to Denpasar with Lion Air so currently there are three routes that we serve specifically from Balikpapan, namely Citilink Indonesia, AirAsia Indonesia, and Lion Air," said General Manager of Angkasa Pura I of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Bali Handy Heryudhitiawan on Friday, September 9, 2022.
According to Handy, Lion Air's inaugural flight is a good start because the flight route is still served by three flights, meaning that the strategic opportunity for seat occupancy rates can be more promising.
In terms of developing domestic routes, Handy Heryudhitiawan said that PT Angkasa Pura I continues to open up opportunities for other airlines to develop strategic routes so as to provide various choices for prospective passengers.
