Online Ojek Tariff Increased Starting This Weekend

8 September 2022 08:06 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaDirector General of Land Transportation of the Transportation Ministry, Hendro Sugiatno, announced the tariff adjustment for online motorcycle taxis or online ojek following the hike in the subsidized fuel prices, Pertalite and Solar. The new fares will take effect starting Saturday, September 10, 2022.

The components of the online taxi services, he outlined, include driver fee which is an increase in the regional minimum wage or UMR, drivers’ insurance or health contributions, a minimum order service fee of 4 kilometers, and an increase in fuel prices.

“So there are direct and indirect costs as determinants of the online motorcycle taxi service fares,” he said at a virtual press conference on Wednesday, September 9, 2022.

Hendro confirmed an 8-percent hike in the price floor and an 8.7-percent hike in the price ceiling for Zone I tariff, which covers Sumatra, Java (excluding Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek), and Bali to Rp2,000-Rp2.500 per kilometer.

For Zone II covering Greater Jakarta, there are 13-percent hike in the price floor and a 6-percent hike in the price ceiling to Rp2,550-Rp2.800 per kilometer.

As for Zone III covering Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Nusa Tenggara, and its surroundings, as well as Maluku and Papua, the government set a 9.5 percent hike in the online ojek tariff’s price floor and a 5.7 percent hike in the price ceiling to Rp2,300-Rp2,750 per kilometer.
