TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police detained Masril, a Pekanbaru resident, for uploading content about the case of Ferdy Sambo, the former chief of the National Police Internal Affairs or Propam Division who was earlier discharged dishonorably.
Arrested in Pekanbaru by police members, Masril has been detained for 22 days. “Yes, it is true that he has been detained for 22 days,” said the Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Senior Commissioner Endra Zulpan as reported by Antara on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
Masril was arrested based on the police report numbered LP/A/846/VII/2022/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya on July 29, 2022. It was a Code A report, meaning that the report was filed by a police member.
He was apprehended by the police on July 31, 2022, at his home on Jalan Hang Tuah, Tanayan Raya, Pekanbaru City.
Masril previously re-uploaded content containing a discussion of alleged gambling activities practiced by Ferdy Sambo. The content was first posted by an account @opposite6890.
Masril also mentioned a hashtag #BerantasJudiOnline which literally translates into Eradicate Online Gambling along with his post on his social media account.
