Anies Baswedan Claims Promises are Being Fulfilled One by One

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan claimed that his political promises made during the campaign of the 2017 regional head election have been fulfilled one by one. One of them is the construction of decent housing.
"Praise to God, [the promises have been] completed one by one, and this is one of them," said Anies at Penjaringan low-cost flat or Rusunawa, North Jakarta, Thursday, August 18, 2022.
The Governor has by far inaugurated 12 Rusunawa spread across four cities in Jakarta. The 12 flats consist of 33 towers with a total of 7,421 units.
The city government has constructed the flats during 2018-2022. Some of the units have been occupied, while some are still available.
The former minister of education and culture explained that political promises meaning are to develop, facilitate, and prepare flats and their facilities for all residents. "So we are doing all of this because we make political promises," Anies remarked.
Anies also emphasized that a country, including the city government, is responsible for providing basic needs for residents. One of them is a place to live.
Previously during the regional election period, Anies made 23 political vows, including the zero rupiah down payment housing program. He stated that all promises were contained in the 2017-2022 Jakarta Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD).
Anies however, did not elaborate on what political promises he had yet to fulfill. Anies explained that the process is not visible and continues to be carried out seriously.
