TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is coordinating with the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim) regarding the request of Bharada E to be named justice collaborator in the murder case of Brigadier J or Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat.
“Bareskrim asks LPSK to immediately send a letter to the Bareskrim Chief for coordination of justice collaborator status,” said LPSK Chairman Hasto Atmojo Suroyo on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
Hasto explained that someone who wants to be named a justice collaborator must meet a number of conditions, such as not being the main perpetrator and willing to reveal the roles of everyone involved in the case including the boss.
In addition, the information provided must have a significant impact on the criminal justice process, including the potential threat to the person. “Because there is a power relationship in this case, the potential threat to the person is surely huge,” Hasto added.
Since the onset of the case, LPSK stated that if Bharada E or Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu is named a suspect, he could be a justice collaborator. A justice collaborator can have special rights, such as a separate case file and place of detention from other perpetrators.
“The JC applicant is also entitled to lesser sentence and remissions,” Hasto said.
He confirmed that Bharada E is now still a justice collaborator applicant. LPSK representatives could not yet meet directly with Bharada E and the Police Criminal Investigation Agency regarding the request.
As previous reports suggested, the National Police have named suspects in Brigadier J's murder case, including Bharada E and his boss former police’s internal affairs division chief Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
