Police Say ACT Mishandles Rp107 Bn Boeing Social Funds

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Nurul Azizah in a press conference on Monday said that the police investigation into the alleged Boeing social funds embezzlement by Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) came to a new conclusion. The criminal investigation agency and auditors believe the amount of money that was embezzled reached Rp107.3 billion.
"Based on the results of the investigation by the Bareskrim Polri investigators and the audit team, Boeing's social funds used were not in accordance with their designation, it is suspected that they amounted to Rp107.3 billion," he said at a press conference at the National Police Headquarters in Jakarta, Monday, August 8, 2022.
He explained that the funds included the procurement of a Rice Truck fleet at Rp2,023,757,000, the procurement of the Big Food Bus program fleet at Rp2,853,347,500, and the development of the Tasikmalaya Civilization Islamic Boarding School at Rp8,795,964,700.
Then there is the bailout to Sharia Cooperatives 212 at Rp10 billion, the bailout to CV CUN at Rp3.05 billion, and the bailout to PT MBGS of Rp7.85 billion. Then the foundation's operational funds are in the form of salaries, allowances, office rent, and payments for office purchases, as well as funds for other foundations affiliated with ACT.
"We also found the fact that Boeing's social funds were used for the construction of social facilities according to the heirs' proposal, based on the audit results, was allegedly only Rp30.8 billion," said Nurul.
He said that, initially, the misappropriated funds amounted to around Rp40 billion, but after an audit, it increased to Rp68 billion. "Then, on Friday last week, further investigation was carried out with the results of an audit by the auditor that Boeing's misappropriated social funds increased to Rp107.3 billion," he added.
ACT officials have been named suspects by the Criminal Investigation Department for allegedly committing money laundering and misappropriation of foundation funds.
