TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Shopping Center Association (APPBI) is set to hold the Indonesia Shopping Festival 2022 on August 11-21 in shopping centers across the country to celebrate the 77th Independence Day.
The shopping fair was expected to expedite the recovery of the national economy, especially in the retail sector. “We are holding this to at least reduce the impact of the pandemic and uncertainties,” said APPBI chairman Alphonzus Wijaja at a press conference on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.
Alphonzus expressed optimism that the business climate would improve following the COVID-19 pandemic that hit the world over the past two years.
Supported by the Trade Ministry, this year’s shopping festival will be enlivened with a special discount of up to 77 percent, exhibitions of domestic and MSMEs products, culinary festivals, regional art performances, and collaborative events in each shopping center.
The Indonesia Shopping Festival will commence simultaneously in shopping centers in several major cities on August 11, 2022, at 14:00 Jakarta time. “Surakarta is chosen as the main location for the opening ceremony, which is at Solo Paragon Lifestyle Mall, that will be opened by Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka,” said Alphonzus.
