Indonesia Logs 1,681 New COVID-19 Cases; Jakarta Contributes the Most

TEMPO.CO, JakartaIndonesia’s number of COVID-19 cases is still increasing. Based on government data as of Monday, July 11, at 12:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), there were 1,681 additional cases.

The country’s total tally has thus reached 6,112,986 people since the first cases were detected on March 2, 2020.

The COVID-19 Task Force reported that Jakarta contributed the most cases with 812 infections, followed by West Java with 306 cases, Banten with 249 cases, East Java with 98 cases, Bali with 74 cases, Central Java with 31 cases, Yogyakarta with 29 cases, and North Sumatra with 22 cases. The rest regions accounted for under 10 cases.

Additionally, the number of patients who recovered from the disease increased by 1,866, bringing the total number of survivors to 5,935,845. The task force also reported 7 new deaths, pushing the death toll to 156,798 people.

Other than positive cases, the government is monitoring 3,398 people suspected of being exposed to the virus. There were 71,095 test specimens carried out today.
