TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) Minister Tjahjo Kumolo passed away today, July 1, 2022. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok confirmed the news.
“That's true,” said the president commissioner of state oil and gas giant Pertamina, who is Tjahjo's colleague at the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), via a short message, Friday.
Tjahjo reportedly took his last breath at 11:10 Jakarta time at Abdi Waluyo Hospital, Jakarta. He was under intensive treatment since June 21.
“Bapak PAN-RB Minister is being treated at the hospital. He is not in a coma, but must undergo intensive treatment,” said the Secretary of PAN-RB Ministry Rini Widyantini in a statement on Friday, June 24.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud Md was thus appointed by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi as the ad interim PAN-RB Minister. “Let’s pray for Pak Tjahjo,” said Mahfud MD.
The former judge of the Constitutional Court did not explain the cause of Tjahjo Kumolo’s hospitalization.
