TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The police have anticipated the density of when the vehicles of Jakarta Formula E race spectators exiting the JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Dozens of police personnel were deployed to manage the traffic around the location.
Central Jakarta Police Chief Sr. Commissioner Komarudin said that the hours when the Formula E spectators leave the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit Ancol became the main concern. They predicted that 10,000 vehicles will leave the JIExpo area at the same time.
"At least around 10,000 vehicles in JIExpo will leave the location at the same time. This definitely needs special attention," said Komarudin at the JIExpo, Jakarta, Saturday, June 4.
To anticipate that, 269 police officers were tasked to manage the traffic in the area. "Hopefully the 269 personnel that we deploy could handle the anticipation of the entire series until it finished," said Komarudin.
The Jakarta E-Prix on Saturday, June 4, was started at 07:15 - 07:45 with the first free practice. It was continued with the second free practice at 09:00 - 09:30 and then the qualification at 10:40 - 11:55. The race started at 15:04.
