Jakarta Anniversary; Taman Ismail Marzuki to Open Gradually Starting June 3

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Arts and cultural center Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in Cikini of Central Jakarta will begin to open gradually starting Friday, June 3, 2022, in celebration of the 495th Jakarta Anniversary or Jakarta Hajatan. TIM has been closed for revamping and its revitalization project is nearly completed.
“The opening of the TIM is part of a welcoming event for the 495th Jakarta Anniversary, in which the provincial government has prepared various activities to celebrate the anniversary from May 24 to June 25, 2022,” said the city-owned developer Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) VP Corporate Secretary, Nadia Diposanjoyo, in Jakarta, Monday, May 30, 2022.
Nadia said that in line with the Jakarta Hajatan’s theme, "Collaboration, Acceleration, and Elevation", the events held at TIM include the architectural exhibition and art exhibitions, such as paintings, sculptures, fabrics, and mixed artworks.
“There are also film screenings, workshops, and discussions on fine arts. All of which will involve various parties,” said Nadia, mentioning
She outlined that the parties involved are the Archives and Collections Commission of the Jakarta Arts Council (DKJ), the Jakarta Arts Institute (IKJ), as well as a number of art studios under the Jakarta Culture Agency and other collaborators.
