TEMPO.CO, Bekasi - Jakarta-Cikampek toll operator PT Jasa Marga through the Transjawa Tollroad Regional Division (JTTRD) has prepared traffic engineering schemes at Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to anticipate the traffic density during the Eid homecoming, or mudik period of 2022 at this month.
JTTRD's General Manager Representative Office (RO) 1 of Jakarta-Cikampek toll, Muhammad Taufik Akbar, explained that his side has prepared the contraflow and one-way traffic schemes based on the police discretion.
“The one-way policy will be offered if the traffic volume at Km 66 is over 11,000-12,000 vehicles per hour. But the one-way policy is the police discretion,” said Taufik in Bekasi, April 15.
The peak of the Eid exodus at Cikampek Toll is predicted to occur starting on April 29. Taufik said his side would optimize the operating substations at Cikampek Utama 1 toll gate with 7 substations, and at Cikampek Utama 2 also with 7 substations, as well as the addition of 6 reversible substations.
"Jasa Marga is also preparing 8 satellite substations at Cikampek direction and 7 substations plus 3 Oblique Approach Booths (OAB) at Jakarta direction," he said.
Taufik added that his office would temporarily stop all construction works starting on D-10 of Eid, assuring that the toll road is neat and without holes, as well as preparing pump and mobile pump maintenance teams and ensuring signage facilities on the Main Line and Functional Line.
"Avoiding congestion and queues that disrupt the flow of traffic in the rest area, the opening and closing [policy] will be carried out, and the maximum time for travelers to rest is 30 minutes," said Taufik.
