TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A lawyer representing the 122 victims of trading robot DNA Pro on Monday said that the financial losses of his clients caused by the illegal trading scheme amounted to Rp17 billion.
The lawyer, Muhammad Zainul Arifin, said the highest loss from one of his clients even reached Rp1.5 billion. “There are those who lost Rp700 million and the highest is Rp1.5 billion,” he said at the Special Economic Crime Directorate (Dirtipideksus) of the National Police Investigation Division (Bareskrim) headquarters on March 28.
He said the case that he had filed was no longer suspected to be a criminal violation, but was already considered a crime committed by a legal corporate management under Digital Net Asia and DNA Pro Akademi.
The victims who wanted to withdraw their deposits were met with deaf ears from the aforementioned companies, even after he had subpoenaed the companies involved in the illegal trading scheme.
Reported previously, the Trade Ministry and the Bareskrim's Dirtipideksus sealed the offices of DNA Pro Akademik, which is basically a multi-level marketing firm operating without a sales permit from an Indonesian State Ministry.
