TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-airport operator Angkasa Pura (AP) I on Wednesday said that around 115 flights departing and arriving in Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will temporarily stop the operation during the Day of Silence or Nyepi on Thursday, March 3.

AP I president director Faik Fahmi announced the 24-hour closure of the airport. "From Thursday, March 3, at 06:00 central Indonesia time (WITA) until Friday, March 4, at 06:00 WITA," he said on Wednesday, March 2.

Based on the data Angkasa Pura acquired, there are 58 arrivals and 57 departures during the closure, Antaranews reported.

Indonesian low-cost carrier Lion Air will be the most affected by this as it has 29 flights with 14 departing from Bali and 15 flights arriving on the island. Citilink and Wings Air all have 22 and 21 flight schedules respectively.

This was announced in the latest notice to airmen (NOTAMN) No.A0031/22 which notifies international air carriers and airports on the enactment of a policy in respect to Nyepi Day.
