TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura or AP II started operating electric motorbikes dubbed the eMoped service at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang.
“These electric vehicles are operated to help the mobility of workers or people at Soekarno-Hatta Airport,” said AP II’s Executive General Manager of Adjacent Business Yado Yarismano on Monday, Feb. 21.
Yado said the eMoped, which is developed by Voy, is a shared transport service for the public. Its use is supported through an application, starting from activation to monitoring use. He added that this service also supports the implementation of smart airports.
According to him, the starting and ending points of the transport service are set in the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) area, office area, and a cargo terminal. It will later be made available at Terminal 3.
“The existence of eMoped is focused on helping the mobility of workers and people at the airport so we have set the three routes, namely TOD-office areas-cargo terminals,” Yado said.
AP II also ensured that eMoped users must meet the predetermined requirements, including wearing a helmet and having SIM C. Additionally, the maximum speed should be 25 km/hour.
“With eMoped, we hope that the use of conventional motorized vehicles within the Soekarno-Hatta Airport area can be reduced,” said Yado.
